I can’t imagine sitting in this chair unless it was in the basement of an opium den in the orient.
It looks inherently unstable.
It looks tempting to sit in, to test what happens if you lean way back – do you become a human projectile?
I own one of these and believe it or not, it is very stable, even leaning way back!
I just purchased one of these and it is very stable. I probably won’t be sitting in it often, I just love to look at it! It’s cool.
I have one in leather. Yeah, its stable. The curves are lovely and the iron, wood and leather combo has that timeless appeal. People are amazed when I tell them the age and history. Usually gets them rushing to google more information and then realizing their own connection to this design. “Hey, I’M from Gowanda and I’ve heard of this guy!” Awesome chair and conversation piece of history.
